A Sampling of the Results

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation provides a wide variety of youth recreation opportunities, yet not all families are able to afford the participation fees. Forsyth County Parks Foundation and Forsyth County Parks and Recreation have designed a youth scholarship program to provide funding for these families.  

The FC Parks Foundation also has accomplished several projects we are excited about:

• All Terrain Track Chair - Received and going live in Sept 2026! We’re raising funds for a 2nd chair as well. See FC Parks & Recreation’s Track Chair announcement regarding the track chair we donated to them.

• Mobile Planetarium on order! Coming by Fall 2026! Thanks to Campbell, Forsyth County Community Foundation and our local fundraising efforts.

• Eagle Scout Candidates have receive support and matching grants for their Projects from the Foundation and Lanier Forsyth Rotary

• Creation of a Discovery Den at Sawnee Mountain Preserve through grants and Boy Scout Projects

• Thanks to our Commemorative Bench and Emergency 911 Mile Markers over 82% of the Big Creek Greenway had sponsored markers for improved  safety and convenience from 2022 to 2025

• The 2026 Tour de Forsyth helped us raise awareness and order the All Terrain Track Chair!

• The 2024 Tour de Forsyth helped raise additional funds to increase our donation to FCPRD

• The 2023 Tour de Forsyth surpassed its goal for runners raising thousands of dollars for underserved children to attend FC Parks & Recreation Programs!

• Our Fly High For Parks Event raised about $9,000 for camp scholarships!
